Police are saying that 7 year-old Beau Henderson drowned near Lake Corpus Christi State Park.

Investigators say that they are unsure of exactly what happened however, they do not believe that the weather was a cause in Henderson’s disappearance.

Earlier in the evening, community members in his hometown of Johnson City gathered at a baseball to hold a vigil for Henderson. Beau was a first grader at Lyndon Johnson Elementary in Johnson City And was active in baseball.

Family friends tonight say that they are praying and are working to help the family during this difficult time.

“Johnson City is a small community and we will get through this together,” Leila Crider, a family friend and Blanco County resident told The Southside Light Sunday evening. “We will get through this but right now our priority is his family.”

Johnson City is located in Blanco County about 40 miles west of Austin in the Texas Hill County.
