Friday Weather Blog

Good evening, Southsiders!

We are watching the weather this weekend, just as we all should be doing. The upper level disturbance is making its way across west Texas and the chances of strong storms does still exist in our immediate area. That said, most of the big activity—should it happen, will likely stay out of Corpus Christi and the immediate area.

That does not mean that we are out of the woods by any means. The chances for severe weather are still there and the ingredients are present to bring some vigorous storms to our area, should one develop.

Looking at all of the available models that we have here, our main concern is flooding towards the Victoria and Wharton areas. 2-3 inches of rain are certainly possible in that area. Here on the south side of town and Flour Bluff we will likely not see any of that here.

Here is what we would suggest:,

  • Be weather aware all weekend
  • Plan your travels to San Antonio accordingly
  • Be ready for anything
  • Keep your NOAA weather radio handy.

We will keep monitoring developments and posting them as they are needed. But for right now, we should be ok on the severe weather.

Stay safe!
