TWIA Says That The Association Has Been Overwhelmed With Public Comment Ahead Of Deadline

As the date has come for deadline to file online comments with the embattled Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) regarding a proposed rate hike by the group, a representative with TWIA says that they have become overwhelmed with responses.

The representative could not say exactly how many comments have been lodged ahead of the deadline, however the association did say that they have had any technical issues with the registration of those comments.

“With so many people engaging the community you have to expect a massive response,” a TWIA spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The beleaguered insurer of last resort for Texas Coastal counties is scheduled to hold their next meeting in Galveston on August 6. Groups from around the region are expected to attend, including a delegation from the Corpus Christi area.
