Corpus Christi State Representative Issues Statement On El Paso Shooting

Corpus Christi—Texas State Representative Todd Hunter (R-Corpus Christi released a statement Monday morning regarding the recent mass shooting event in El Paso that has left 21 dead and 2 dozen badly injured.

In the statement Representative Hunter, who serves on the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee said in the statement that the committee should address the issues at interim between legislative sessions which would allow the public flexible input.

The statement from Hunter comes after some legislators began calling on Governor Abbott to call a special session to deal with gun violence and mental health—an action that is highly unlikely.
