South Texas Native Running In His 140th Full Marathon On Sunday

One South Texas native is racing towards a milestone Sunday morning out in California. Alfredo Garcia, Jr. is competing in his 140th full marathon and he doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Garcia has been running for years and the now retired Raytheon engineer and United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel stays very active each and everyday by running training runs in excess of five miles.

The Freer native, who now calls the Los Angeles area home does still stop in for a visit every so often and his family still calls the area home.

Alfredo’s wife is completing her 42nd half marathon alongside.

Let’s show them some support and give them both a big Texas yell from Corpus Christi!
