(Southside Light News)--Despite the growing concerns over the spread of COVID-19, there hasn’t been much guidance for customers or cosmetologists in Texas about what they should or should not do--until today.
On Friday, all massage establishments in the state to be closed until April 3, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The department says that the reasoning for the closures is in part due to the executive order issued by Governor Abbott on Thursday.
Until today, TDLR said they were “strongly urging employers” of licensed barbers, cosmetologists, and more to check the state and local health authority’s recommendations, but that it was a “business decision."
Governor Abbott's order is set to take effect tonight at midnight.
