(Southside Light News) — Construction on road projects is still moving forward despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Texas Department of Transportation says it has put in place higher safety protocols for construction and maintenance crews working on area projects. City of Corpus Christi crews and contractors say that they are, as well.
TxDOT says that from their perspective it is actually helping move projects along because there are fewer cars on the road.
The agency says that they are working closely with state health and emergency management officials to follow their guidance on how to keep crews safe and healthy.
Road crews for the city of Corpus Christi have been out working in the decreased traffic conditions, as well. And that is a good thing for all.
